When I was a young boy I became a member of a terrorist group
in my home town of Belfast. I soon started to get caught up in the things
that were expected of me. I would rather not go into detail. When I
was 18, I was out with some friends as I thought, well that night I
got shot in a gun battle.
When I was in hospital I started to think, if I had died, where was
I going, heaven or hell. The state I was in I knew it was hell. For
weeks I was very troubled, I could not sleep or work, I just kept thinking
about hell. Well I was asked to go along to a gospel, and I went for
a laugh, the laugh was on me, I got the living day lights scared out
of me. The first words the preacher said was "Where are you going
to hell or heaven". I could have sworn he was talking to me. I
soon caught on it was the holy spirit who was doing the talking.
After a while I became a Christian the big problem was, how was I going
to get out of the group I was in. God soon sorted that out, he opened
the doors for me. I was frightened even to go out in case I was seen,
but the Lord had other ideas. He brought them to me. They asked me was
I saved, I paused for a while and asked why, expecting a hood to be
put over my head. But there was no hood only the words to say you can
not be with us while you are a Christian so you are free to go, but
you must always stay a Christian, if you leave it you are back in.
Well I can say I left God many times, but oh praise his name, he never
left me. My last words (when you join a terrorist group they tell you
the only way you can leave is in a box. Well I can say I am not in a
box I am alive for ever more. I am sorry I took up so much space but
I had to tell what my God has done for me praise his holy name.
